The Douglas County Courthouse is the second in my series of buildings around Lawrence. Two architects worked on the plans for this building together with construction beginning in 1903. The contract to build was won by a firm from Topeka called Cuthbert and Sargent for the amoutn of $62,181. There is no evidence of any official dedication and in Jauary of 1905, workers began to move into the offices.
