Union Pacific Depot

This is the first in a series I am titling ‘LFK Builds.’ In this series, I intend to explore some of the different structures here in Lawrence, KS. As opposed to just taking well composed, sharp photos, I tend to really get creative with the photos in this series.
Constructed in 1889, the Union Pacific Depot is now the home of the visitor’s center in Lawrence. The building was sold to the city in the early 1990s and totally renovated in 1996. In addition to being the visitor’s center, UPD also has two rooms available to rent for events. Trains still go by every 12-15 minutes, as I’m sure the inhabitants of north Lawrence can attest to.
