Pixie Dust

Disclaimer: No fairies were harmed in the making of this photo.
This photo was taken at the 2014 Renaissance Faire in Bonner Springs, KS. After assembling her new wand and having it successfully tested by the local magician, Merlyn, my daughter decided it was time to take a ride on the swing. I was a little hesitant, as the ride went pretty fast and pretty high, but my daughter was determined to fly.
I really like how the subject is looking right at the camera, through the triangle made by her arm, the swing’s rope and the arm of the seat. What I didn’t like about this experience was the fact that the ride was attended by a bunch of topless 10 year-old boys. These kids, albeit nice, were young and not really what a dad wants to see putting his daughter in a seat, securing her via a knot in the rope and finally, these boys manually operated the ride by turning cranks on the inside cylinder. But, my daughter survived, I survived and we got this great photo to share.
