This is a part of the central art piece hanging above the stairwell in the newly renovated Lawrence Public Library. It is a great stained-glass, multi-piece work of art that must weigh a ton!

From http://www.douglas-county.com/depts/pw/pw_countyparks.aspx – “Wells Park was donated in 1971 to Douglas County by William Wells….An observation tower offering a great scenic view of the City of Lawrence is the park’s main focal point…The park also contains a short nature trail for hiking. Follow the winding entry-road to the top of the hill to enter the parking lot. The park is located ¾ mile east of US 59 on the south side of County Route 458 (N. 1000 Road).”

Nothing says “scary clown” on Halloween more than a killer clown in a safety orange vest. At least the victims can see their demise coming!

This old truck sits outside a diner in Lecompton, KS. I often pass it on the way to my childcare provider and it has always seemed like an interesting subject. Unfortunately, I waited until it snowed to capture it, but a little processing magic has really brought out the grunginess of the truck.

The time has come once again for us all the reflect on the past year, to think back on all of our accomplishments, our setbacks, and maybe even some failures. I think that knowing what we feel we’ve done right, what we feel didn’t work out and in some instances, why said things didn’t go as planned will help us in the coming year. Go ahead and take a seat under the tree and start thinking. It can only help us to a better 2015.

New Years mark a new beginning. New people to meet, new adventures to have and for me, new photos to create. Wishing you a happy and magical New Year.

This is an old friend from college, my Pentax ME Super, outfitted with a Pentax 50mm prime lens. Honestly, I didn’t use this camera as much as I would have liked. My intro-Nikon 35mm camera just seemed nicer, and I’ll be honest, in 2001, the ‘vintage’ look wasn’t too cool. This image was edited online with the Polarr editing suite (and seems to have shrunk).
